Appointments

Urgent appointments

If you need to request an urgent appointment for today or tomorrow (Monday to Friday), our appointment lines open at 8am each morning. We have further appointments released at 2pm each afternoon.

We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.

Routine appointments

We have both face to face and telephone appointments available each day. These can either be booked in advance or on the day.

Advance bookings – appointments are usually available up to four weeks in advance.

Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery

Appointment Lengths

The allocated length of an appointment is 10 minutes. If you think you will need more than 10 minutes for an appointment please ask for a longer appointment slot. If you require more than one member of the family to see the doctor or nurse, please inform the receptionist. One appointment is for one person only.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

To cancel your appointment:

  • Please phone us on 01283 565200 and select option 1 when the surgery is closed or option 3, Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm to speak to a member of staff.

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
  • if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
  • if you need an interpreter
  • if you have any other access or communication needs

Telephone Consultations

If you think your problem could be resolved over the phone then you can book a telephone consultation with one of our clinicians. The clinician will call you back on the number provided. Please ensure you keep your phone with you as the clinician will only try to call twice.
