Appointments can be made in person or by telephoning the surgery on 01889 562145 between 08:00 and 18:30 Monday to Friday.
You can also book online via the above link. This service is available 24 hours a day and can be accessed through any computer, whether at home or at work. EMIS Access uses the highest internet security measures to ensure all patient information is safe and secure. It is designed to be easy to use, simply log in and you can view, book or cancel appointments. To register for online appointment booking, ask at reception for your unique login ID and pin number.
We can usually offer patients a same day appointment with their own doctor within 24 hours. However, if your doctor is unavailable, you may be offered an appointment with an alternative doctor.
When booking an appointment you may be asked about the kind of problem or symptoms you have. This enables us to offer you the most appropriate help or appointment. All such discussions remain strictly confidential.
Please make one appointment for each member of the family if they need to be seen or discussed.
Extended Access
Following a National Government initiative, from 1st September 2018 extra appointments will be offered across the whole of East Staffordshire, including evening and weekend appointments.

Additionally, a new online digital service will be available on Sunday mornings where appointments will be offered with a GP via the Q Doctor App. Posters will be available in the surgery shortly; please look at Q Doctor for further details.
All practices across East Staffordshire are participating in this extended access.
For further information, please contact the surgery reception.
Telephone Advice
Occasionally you may feel that an appointment is not necessary and you could discuss your problem or medication over the telephone. If you wish to speak to your doctor, please contact the surgery and a message will be left with your doctor to contact you. The receptionist may ask for details of your call but this is to assist the doctor and will remain strictly confidential. Telephone: 01889 562145.
Chaperone
There are occasions when patients need to be examined by a doctor that may involve an intimate examination. If you wish to have a chaperone present, please do not hesitate to ask the doctor. It may not be possible for a chaperone to be provided immediately and you may have to return for your examination to be carried out at a mutually convenient time.
Cancellations
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
If you have an urgent acute problem we offer additional ‘sit and wait appointments’ on the day, when all timed appointments have already been booked.
To ensure these appointments are used for those with acute / urgent problems, our GPs will not be able to see patients on a sit and wait for reviews, follow ups or fit note requests. Please be aware that our GPs reserve the right to decline routine requests if this service is misused.
You will be invited to come to the practice either in the morning or afternoon dependent on when you contact us and wait your turn to be seen by the next available GP (waiting time up to 1hr). Patients are normally seen in order of booking, although doctors reserve the right to see patients out of order for clinical reasons. We unfortunately cannot offer you a choice of which doctor you see during this session but you WILL be seen.
If you are not able to attend your appointment, we ask that you cancel this with a minimum of 1 hours’ notice so that we are able to offer another patient the use of that appointment.
We have a STRICT policy for patients who regularly miss their appointments which ultimately will result in the removal of them/their family from the practice list.
If you are late for your appointment you will be seen ONLY in exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of the clinician.
In an effort to improve the care and service we give our patients we offer telephone consultations for those patients who may not necessarily need to come to the surgery. These telephone appointments can be booked anything up to two weeks in advance. They are designed for patients to speak to the doctor and nurses for approximately five minutes about ailments/medical problems that do not have to be face to face e.g. medication reviews, questions about medications, results, follow ups where the GP advises that a discussion over the phone is sufficient.
These telephone calls are NOT intended for patients to purely get REPEAT prescriptions via the GP. Please see our note on precriptions on how to get them.
Our receptionists will offer this type of consultation as an alternative to coming into the practice.
Chaperones
If you anticipate that you may require an examination by the Doctor and feel that you would like a chaperone to be present, please make reception aware at the time of booking your appointment so that this can be arranged.
