Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).
The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 15 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.

See a GP online over secure video, from home or work – on your smartphone, tablet or PC
As part of our commitment to improving access for our patients, we’re using Q doctor to enable video consultations with GPs.
Consultations are currently available on Sundays from 10am-12pm and we’re hoping to expand this service in the future. This means for certain conditions* you can see a GP from home or work, without having to come to the surgery. Simply download the app and call the surgery to get an appointment code then book your video consultation online.
If you require an evening or weekend appointment please ask our reception team. We work collaboratively across South Staffordshire practices and can book extended hours appointments at a number of neighbouring practices as well as our own on a rotational basis. Book yours today.
